ANALYSIS: Formula 1, 2023 is s a disastrous season

by Stefano Zambroni

Formula 1 is back but… this season wasn’t like expected.

Formula 1 is back. Did I miss it? Yes, but not too much.

I’ve taken these weeks to see what happened this year and… it’s a disaster. At the beginning of the season everyone gave a different favorite for victory, or at least there was talk of a world championship Verstappen VS Hamilton VS Leclerc.
A dream.

Dream shattered after the first tests: from a world championship with 3 teams to one of the most boring and insignificant world championships of the last 20 years, perhaps the worst.

In 12 races (not one, TWELVE) nothing happened (except for a pole for Leclerc and one for Hamilton). Nothing. Not because I dislike or like Verstappen, we would miss him. He is the best, he deserves everything.
But how bad is it to know that Leclerc, Russell, Norris and Piastri have a total of 6 victories added together?
How difficult is it this year to talk, write, discuss Formula 1 if only Max always wins and in the rear they (rightly) gave up after 2 races?

Let’s then add the drama of Imola, which on the weekend where the Romagnoli were ready to party saw mud at home and will still suffer the consequences for a long time. If Imola for many was the only happy interlude of this 2023 in Formula 1, within a few days you were lucky if you still had your home safe and sound.
Not even that joy.

Dear Formula 1, did I miss you? Yes, but less than usual.

Dear 2023 season, will I miss you? No, and I can’t wait for you to finish as soon as possible.
