According to the well-known Spanish newspaper, Sergio Perez will remain at Red Bull in 2025 thanks to the arrival of crucial sponsors.
“Sergio Perez will stay with Red Bull in 2025.” This was announced by Marca, a prominent Spanish daily, explaining that the Mexican driver will race for another year with Red Bull, thanks to the involvement of key sponsors from South America.
The rumors, of course, should be taken with a grain of salt, but according to Marca, Red Bull has already made its decision, partly due to the significant financial boost from new partnerships with South American sponsors. This would be a real lifeline for the Anglo-Austrian team and, most importantly, for Sergio Perez.
The former Sauber driver has been under pressure for months, but in South America, he is considered a true icon and a powerful brand. To put it into perspective, companies owned by telecom magnate Carlos Slim (Telcel, Claro, and Infinitum) contribute over $30 million annually, which allows Red Bull to pay Perez’s $10 million salary and keep the remaining $20 million for itself.
But that’s not all. According to Spanish sources, other Mexican and South American sponsors are ready to “help” Sergio Perez, and Chris Horner has already given the green light for the production of Checo merchandise for the upcoming season.
However, it’s not just the sponsors coming to Perez’s aid. According to sources who claim the confirmation of the Mexican driver, the simulator times set by Lawson and Tsunoda were slower than Perez’s. Of course, this information should be taken with caution, as both Horner and Marko have repeatedly stated that a decision will be made at the end of the current season.
