Third and fifth positions, respectively, for Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, who analyzed the Sprint Qualifying.
Yesterday, the Sprint Qualifying session for the Brazilian Grand Prix concluded. Charles Leclerc secured third place, while Carlos Sainz took fifth. Today, the Sprint Race is scheduled for 3 PM, followed by the qualifying session at 7 PM. The two drivers reflected on their Friday at Interlagos.
A strong qualifying session for Ferrari, which, after some concerns during the first practice, demonstrated its competitiveness on the Interlagos track. Although the true test will come today regarding pace, the two Red cars maximized their performance in qualifying, despite a McLaren that seems unbeatable, at least in terms of single-lap speed.
Charles Leclerc expressed satisfaction, securing third place thanks to an excellent lap. He said: “I’m happy because we achieved the best possible result for today. I don’t think there was any margin for improvement beyond third place: the McLaren is incredibly fast, and we are a bit behind this weekend, but it will still be important to score many points.”
Carlos Sainz, who qualified fifth behind Max Verstappen, is looking forward to an exciting Sprint Race with plenty of uncertainties: “I think a lot will happen in tomorrow’s Sprint Race. There will be many unknowns, and it should be fun. I’ll try to have a good race from my starting position, and for the rest of the day, the goal will be to perform well in qualifying, as we want to start further up in the main race on Sunday.”
