Continuing health issues for Kevin Magnussen: the Danish driver will be replaced by Oliver Bearman for the remainder of the F1 weekend in Brazil.

Just an hour and a half before the start of the first and only practice session, news broke that Haas driver Kevin Magnussen would not participate in Friday’s Brazilian Grand Prix. In his place, Oliver Bearman returned to driving a Formula 1 car. The British driver, who will be employed full-time by Haas next year, finished FP1 with a fantastic third time of 1:10.805 and qualified 10th for the Sprint race, which will take place at Interlagos tomorrow afternoon Italian time.

A few hours after the end of today’s two sessions, Haas announced that the Danish driver will not participate in the rest of the race weekend, right where he achieved his first career pole position in 2022. Therefore, Bearman will continue to race in the upcoming sessions: “After Ollie stepped into the VF-24 for today’s sessions due to Kevin’s illness, we can confirm that the British driver will now complete the entire weekend of the Brazilian Grand Prix with the team. We wish Kevin a swift and full recovery.” it is stated in the team’s social media announcement.
