The battle between Martin and Bagnaia continues: here are the weather and the schedule for the MotoGP in Thailand!
After closing the Australia chapter, Martin remains at the top of the rider standings, increasing his lead over Bagnaia. After a win in the Sprint Race and second place in Sunday’s race, the Spaniard now has a 20-point lead over his rival, and every race brings him closer to the championship title. Marc Marquez, thanks to the 25 points earned on Sunday, is now closer to his future teammate Pecco Bagnaia; however, with 59 points to recover in three races, it may be too little, too late.
THE CIRCUIT
The Thai circuit is known as the Chang International Circuit, named after the major sponsor, a local beer company. Located in Buriram, it’s one of the most recent circuits in MotoGP, having been built in 2014. In addition to the MotoGP, Thailand also hosts the Superbike championship.
The track consists of 12 corners, 7 to the right and 5 to the left. Up until turn 4, the circuit is particularly fast due to its long straights. However, within this section, riders face turn 3, which, according to data provided by Brembo, is the most demanding corner for the braking system: the bikes lose around 250 km/h in just over 5 seconds. Currently, the fastest lap is held by Marco Bezzecchi, with a time of 1:29.671, which earned him pole position in 2022.
