The Spanish Ferrari driver spoke to the microphones of Marca analyzing his four years at Ferrari and his landing at Williams.
Carlos Sainz wants to win one more race with Ferrari before landing at Williams. The Spanish driver, who will say goodbye to the Cavallino at the end of the season, leaving his seat to Lewis Hamilton, gave a nice interview to the Spanish newspaper Brand.
Sainz focused on the Ferrari adventure, praising every single moment, from Maranello to the races via the warmth of the Prancing Horse fans. These are the words of the Spaniard: “It has been a precious four years. My first victories and first pole positions came here in Maranello, and I want to end the year in the best possible way, maybe winning one last race before saying goodbye to Ferrari.” The opportunities are there, Mexico and Las Vegas are the GPs where we will have the best chances; we have never been the fastest but the Rossa is always there, we have to take advantage of others’ mistakes and win.”
From the present to the future with Lewis Hamilton taking his place. When questioned on the subject Sainz preferred to gloss over it with these words, “I will not meddle, I will keep my opinion to myself.” Waiting for the “Matador.” now, is Williams, which dreams of making a big comeback with the new 2026 regulations. A leadership role he will be given with Albon ready for a fair fight. “Nothing would make me more excited than winning a race next year, it would mean that I made a good decision, that I was able to turn the project into something that really works.”
Thus the Madrid native who, then, added, “Winning for Williams would be something important, perhaps the most important thing in my career. Ferrari? I will remain a Rossa driver all my life and who knows … maybe our paths will meet again.”
