Marc Marquez WINS the MotoGP race in San Marino! Martin and Pramac make a mess, Bagnaia closes the gap in the standings
Marquez, once again! After his victory last week in Aragon, the Spaniard stands on the top step of the podium once again in Misano. It was a classic Marquez win, showing his exceptional skills in the challenging conditions on the track, where the eight-time champion shines like no other.
Pecco Bagnaia settles for second place once again today: a solid race for the Turin rider, who led until the rain arrived. Enea Bastianini completes the podium in third, followed by Binder, Bezzecchi, Alex Marquez, and Miller.
The big flop of the day was Jorge Martin: the Prima Pramac rider pitted after the first drops of rain, attempting a risky strategy. However, it didn’t pay off: Martin re-entered the pits after just 3 laps, ending his race for good.
Race Summary
THE START – The Grand Prix starts off with a bang! Bagnaia maintains the lead, followed by Martin and Morbidelli. If the first lap was packed with action, the second one featured two contacts: Martin making a move on Bagnaia, and Acosta losing his left winglet after a clash with Morbidelli.
The young Spaniard from the 2004 class crashes out on lap 5: his entry into the corner was too aggressive, with his KTM sliding on the slightly damp track. The rain intensifies, and the option to pit arises: Franco Morbidelli attempts to stay out but crashes while in third place.
Bagnaia stays out while Martin pits: a bold choice by the Spaniard, dropping him to 15th place. As one Spaniard falls, another takes the lead: Marc Marquez, now 1st with Bagnaia chasing. However, Martin is lapping 9 seconds slower than the leaders. He decides to pit again, ultimately ruining his race and getting lapped. Vinales makes the same mistake as the championship leader, while Aleix Espargarò retires from the race.
Marc Marquez’s charge continues relentlessly, with Pecco Bagnaia and Jorge Martin’s red machines chasing him courageously but in vain.
