Lando Norris secures pole position in Monza qualifying, leading a McLaren 1-2! Ferrari finishes 4th and 5th
At the Temple of Speed, it was time to unleash all the horsepower for just under 80 breathtaking seconds on the Monza circuit! Qualifying concluded with a brilliant pole position for Lando Norris and a 2nd place for Oscar Piastri, with McLaren once again showing itself as the leading force. Tomorrow will be a great opportunity for the Papaya team to close the 30-point gap to Red Bull in the Constructors’ Championship.
Following the two Papayas, George Russell completes the top three, followed by the Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. It was a decent performance for the two Scuderia cars, but they will face a tough battle for victory tomorrow. Lewis Hamilton didn’t fare as well, finishing 6th.
A disaster for Max Verstappen: the Dutchman could only manage 7th, just ahead of his teammate Sergio Perez. Rounding out the top 10 were Nico Hulkenberg and Alexander Albon.
Daniel Ricciardo put in a good qualifying performance, finishing 12th (Tsunoda was only 16th, furious over the radio), while Franco Colapinto’s first outing ended in 18th place. The Argentine had a small regret, as a trip through the gravel exiting Lesmo 2 cost him a better lap time.
