Ferrari has just presented the livery for Monza 2024: the team has decided to tint the numbers on its cars in black
As the Monza weekend approaches, the first event took place yesterday in Milan. Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz painted the streets of the fashion capital red (and black) with tens of thousands of fans waiting for the two drivers outside the Ray-Ban Store and later at the Ferrari Store.
As announced earlier, Ferrari has chosen to emphasize carbon fiber in this year’s design. The drivers’ suits will be entirely black with accents of Giallo Modena, a color celebrated in previous years at Monza and used by Enzo Ferrari as the background for the Prancing Horse emblem because it represents the city of Modena.
Regarding the livery, no major changes have been made, as previously reported. The only alteration will be the race numbers on Leclerc and Sainz’s cars, with the inside of the 16 and 55 changing from the usual white to black.
Ferrari’s statement on the Monza 2024 livery
Ferrari’s official website reads: “ Scuderia Ferrari HP, together with some of its partners, has decided to celebrate what represents the state of the art in racing car construction at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza: carbon fiber, a material renowned for its lightness and strength, which has allowed exceptional advances in safety.”
“Both SF-24 cars will feature a small touch dedicated to this theme: the numbers 16 and 55 on the bodywork will not be the usual white with yellow edging but will have a carbon look, specifically chosen to highlight the woven patterns and natural reflections of carbon fiber. However, the most striking elements this weekend will undoubtedly be the accessories, including suits, helmets, shoes, and glasses, all inspired by this material”, ended Ferrari.
