The Scuderia surprises everyone: Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will be dressed in black at Monza… Could this be a hint about the car’s livery?
Ferrari Red and Modena Yellow have always been the defining colors of the Prancing Horse throughout its nearly century-long history. However, rumors are swirling about a black Ferrari at Monza: the “Rossa” (if it can still be called that this weekend) has already hinted on its social media channels that black, with yellow accents, will be the dominant color this weekend.
This unusual and unexpected choice may shock those who expected a tribute to the Ferrari 499P #50’s victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Instead, after sporting blue at the Miami Grand Prix, Ferrari will once again opt for a color not typically seen on the uniforms or car of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.
Above and below are two leaked images of the shirt and cap that will be used this weekend. The drivers’ suits will also be black, as teased by Ferrari itself. While the merchandise hasn’t been officially released yet, this will be the confirmed design, featuring a “carbon fiber” style.
As for the car’s livery, no official information has been released yet. The likelihood of seeing a fully black Ferrari is slim, given the color’s association with mourning, which was notably used for this purpose at Monza in 2001. However, it’s possible that black may appear more prominently in certain details of the car.
