The results of the F1 at Zandvoort: Norris, dominant in Max’s backyard! Leclerc and Ferrari deliver a stunning performance
In the realm of Max Verstappen, the story has changed: Lando Norris triumphs at Zandvoort, securing crucial points in the championship race! There was no contest along the Dutch shores: the Brit wins with a 20-second lead, showcasing the strength of the MCL38, which once again proves to be the car to beat.
Behind him, Max Verstappen finishes in second: for the three-time winner of the GP, it’s now time to play defense, given the dominant performance of his rival. It wasn’t an especially eventful race for Verstappen, who, after taking the lead at the start, soon had to relinquish it to Norris.
Rounding out the podium is an extraordinary Charles Leclerc: the very driver who had described a podium finish as “a miracle” in yesterday’s interviews, manages to overtake both Piastri and Russell with a masterful double undercut by Ferrari.
Fourth place goes to an unremarkable Oscar Piastri, followed by an equally solid Carlos Sainz in fifth, with Perez, Russell, Hamilton, Gasly, and Alonso rounding out the top ten.
Race Recap
THE START – Lando Norris gets off to a slow start: the McLaren driver struggles off the line, with Max Verstappen seizing the lead in the opening meters. A similar fate befalls Russell and Piastri, with both McLarens losing a position: Leclerc (5th) also makes a great start, taking advantage.
Kevin Magnussen makes a mistake on lap 7: the Haas driver runs wide and ends up in the gravel, dropping to the back of the field. On lap 11, an exciting battle ensues between Carlos Sainz and Pierre Gasly, with the two dueling from the straight to turn 3.
On lap 17, Norris begins his challenge against Verstappen: the home favorite eventually has to concede after an initial defense, handing the lead to the Papaya-colored car. A masterstroke by Ferrari and Leclerc on lap 26: the Monegasque driver executes a double undercut, moving up from 5th to 3rd.
Out front, Lando Norris cruises comfortably, emerging as the favorite for Driver of the Day: his lead stretches beyond 15 seconds, while Leclerc holds onto a miraculous third place, though closely pursued by Oscar Piastri.
