A difficult day for Fabio Di Giannantonio: a crash at Turn 8 has left him with a dislocated left shoulder.
The weekend has already taken a turn for the worse for Fabio Di Giannantonio, despite it being only Friday. The Roman rider, who finished 20th in today’s pre-qualifying session with a lap time of 1.30.058 (1.550 seconds off Pecco Bagnaia’s record time), managed just eight laps before suddenly losing control after clipping a curb.
The VR46 team released an official statement: “Following an evaluation at the circuit’s medical centre, Fabio Di Giannantonio has been diagnosed with a dislocated left shoulder. He will undergo further examination at the hospital in Judenberg”.

Alessio Salucci, known as “Uccio,” later provided more details to Sky Sport: “Unfortunately, Fabio’s shoulder is severely dislocated, and the medical centre staff couldn’t realign it. That’s why they’ve transferred him to the hospital, where they’ll likely need to sedate him or use anesthesia to put it back in place”.
“Once it’s set, they’ll conduct an MRI to assess the extent of the damage, as dislocations can often cause significant injury to surrounding tissues. Fabio was in a lot of pain, but we’re hopeful that he’ll be able to return to racing as soon as possible”, Uccio concluded.
