After extending the contracts of Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri, and CEO Zak Brown, McLaren now renews Andrea Stella’s contract.
Andrea Stella’s contribution to leading the Woking team is objectively one of the most tangible in Formula 1. Since he began his role as team principal, the team has achieved incredible successes, despite the terrible start to last season, becoming an example for the rest of the grid. Now, McLaren has announced that it has extended the Italian engineer’s contract for multiple years, continuing to secure the A-Team in pursuit of the Constructors’ Championship victory.
“It is a privilege to be part of the McLaren Formula 1 team, and I am honored to continue in my role as Team Principal. We have made great progress over the last year and a half, and we still have a lot of work to do to consistently fight at the top of the grid, which is an exciting challenge.“Andrea Stella said about his renewal in his role as team principal.”
Continuing, Stella praised the teamwork, a hallmark of his media communication. The team principal of the Woking squad has consistently highlighted the team’s successes achieved through teamwork, always avoiding taking personal credit: “Success comes through the synergistic work of the team, and I am enjoying my role, which has allowed me to help unlock individual talent and empower people to work together towards our team’s goals.”
“My thanks go to Zak for his trust in me as a leader, to my entire leadership team, and to all my team colleagues for their ongoing collaboration and support.” I am excited about what we can continue to achieve together.“— he concluded, thanking CEO Zak Brown, who is also leading McLaren until 2030.
Zak Brown’s words on Andrea Stella’s renewal
“I am pleased to confirm that we have extended Andrea’s contract as our F1 Team Principal for several years. His excellent leadership, expertise, and the respect he holds within the team and Formula 1 mean that we couldn’t have a better person in the right place to continue the constant fight at the top of the grid.”
“His impact on McLaren F1 in his role as Team Principal has been profound, not only through our on-track results and the team’s trajectory but also in developing our culture and mindset. With the multi-year extensions already agreed with Lando, Oscar, and now Andrea, we can continue with confidence in our pursuit of becoming World Champions. We are all excited for the years to come under Andrea’s leadership.”
