Red Bull has banned Max Verstappen from participating in SimRacing beyond a certain hour: in Budapest, he finished his stint in the dead of night!
Max Verstappen’s passion for racing is boundless, to the extent that he doesn’t want to limit himself to just one motorsport over a weekend. It’s no secret that the Dutch champion takes part in virtual races during the weekend: both during the Imola Grand Prix and the recent Hungarian Grand Prix, the Red Bull driver wrapped up his SimRacing activities late into the night.
And so, Helmut Marko decided to put a stop to it: “I must say that in Imola, he didn’t go to bed until three in the morning after a SimRacing session – and then he won the Grand Prix. Max has a different sleep pattern, and on that occasion, he managed his seven hours of sleep.”
“His late-night stint on the simulator during the Hungary weekend occurred only because a driver on his team had dropped out. However, we have agreed that he will no longer run SimRacing sessions so late at night in the future” , concluded the Austrian team director.
A negative weekend possibly caused by late-night simulator sessions? It’s hard to say, but what’s clear is that Max Verstappen’s hunger for victories and motorsport seems insatiable: the Dutch driver is never satisfied, as evidenced by his reactions over the recent weekend.
