In a surprise twist, reports from the paddock suggest that Miguel Oliveira will join Pramac Yamaha for the next season: announcement expected
Like a bolt from the blue: the 2025 MotoGP rider market is heating up, with official announcements and rumors swirling. It all started with the shocking announcement of Marc Marquez joining Ducati, followed by Aprilia confirming the Martin-Bezzecchi duo for 2025. These negotiations were closed within days and have surprised everyone in the industry.
Now, it’s time for more official news: according to Sky Sport, Miguel Oliveira will become a new rider for Prima Pramac Racing starting in 2025, when Paolo Campinoti’s team will switch from Ducati to Yamaha. This radical change ends a 20-year collaboration: the satellite team will abandon the Desmosedici GP24 for the M1.
Oliveira is said to have signed a two-year contract, with the announcement expected after the British Grand Prix (scheduled for August 4th): the Portuguese rider will thus be driving a Yamaha for the first time in his career, after years in MotoGP with KTM and Aprilia.
