Hungaroring Shocker: Budapest Pit Lane Flooded After Heavy Rain, But No Thunderstorms Expected for the Weekend
The Formula 1 weekend in Budapest isn’t off to the best start (here’s the WEATHER and SCHEDULE for the entire weekend): the Hungarian capital was hit by a violent downpour in the middle of the afternoon, causing some disruptions throughout the city, which is hosting the Circus this weekend.
As reported by Calum Nicholas (@f1mech on Instagram, 2 times World Champion, probably known to you as “the mechanic with the braids” from Red Bull), the circuit itself also experienced some issues: the pit lane, the highest point of the Hungaroring track, was flooded with a few centimeters of water along the entire course of the pits, creating some minor inconveniences for the teams that had their trucks positioned there.

The situation is under control and does not pose significant concerns for the weekend’s proceedings: a few hours before the first F3 session, however, the atmosphere in the paddock is certainly wetter than usual.
