A new update for Budapest: Vasseur announces a new package of Ferrari updates in Hungary, featuring a revised floor
No, the Maranello team does not intend to throw in the towel and give up: fighting between the EVO 1 (Imola) and EVO 2 (Silverstone) packages is not the intention of the Red team, who have worked on the data acquired at Silverstone, preparing a completely evolved floor.
Ferrari’s New Package
Frederic Vasseur explained that the new floor should allow Leclerc and Sainz (the latter involved in a rumor linking him to Red Bull) to return to being key players, enabling them to compete again with the leading drivers.
The manager from Draveil commented on the updates: “We have worked hard in the company. In Budapest, we will bring an evolved version of the floor, which we expect will give our drivers a car with which they can express themselves to the best of their abilities,” said Vasseur.
According to the French manager, the goal is to improve both race and qualifying performances, where pushing to the limit is crucial. “This season continues to be fought on the edge of hundredths of a second, and having Charles and Carlos fully confident can allow us to achieve better results,” he added.
Benefits in Downforce, but the Bouncing…
The week of pause before the Hungaroring was fundamental for the team, which was able to thoroughly analyze the data collected over the last three races. Vasseur emphasized how the recent upgrade package brought the expected benefits in terms of downforce points but also introduced side effects that worsened driver comfort (notably the infamous “bouncing”).
“I am confident that the package we will have available in Hungary will allow our team to be protagonists again,” concluded Vasseur.
