Race Results and Highlights from MotoGP in Germany: Disaster for Martin, BAGNAIA Takes the Win! The Marquez Brothers Finish on the Podium, Strong Performance by Franco Morbidelli
The Sachsenring track was painted in number 89 colors, and Pramac was the bike of the weekend: after securing pole position and winning the Sprint Race yesterday, it seemed all set for Jorge Martin’s victory. However… the Spaniard crashed on the penultimate lap! Pecco Bagnaia seized the opportunity, winning the race and taking the lead in the championship! Also on the podium were Marc Marquez, who climbed from 13th to 2nd, and Alex Marquez, completing the podium with the two Marquez brothers.
Franco Morbidelli had a great race, finishing 5th, while Enea Bastianini took 4th place.
The race report
THE START – The first lap was smooth for everyone: Martin held the lead, while Bagnaia managed to pass Oliveira. Marquez also had a good start, moving up from 13th to 8th after being impeded by Bradl.
However, the lead changed on lap 2: Bagnaia overtook Martin at turn 13, while a superb Morbidelli climbed to third, closely following his teammate. Meanwhile, Marquez continued to advance, now in 7th place, right behind Vinales.
On lap 7, Martin retook the lead with a daring move on Bagnaia, who tried in vain to counterattack. Vinales went wide, ending up in the gravel (without falling) and rejoining in 18th position. Morbidelli also made a move, overtaking Bagnaia: it was a 1-2 for Pramac, with Pecco having to settle for third.
However, Morbidelli lost ground in the following laps, allowing Marc Marquez to catch up. The two made contact, with Marquez nearly crashing and his airbag deploying. Marquez attempted another pass on lap 25, successfully overtaking Morbidelli.
Drama on the Penultimate Lap: Martin went in too hot, crashed, and handed the victory to Bagnaia! The Marquez brothers joined him on the podium, with Bastianini finishing 4th.
