A tough blow for the eight-time world champion: yet another injury for Marc Marquez, here are his current conditions
The Sachsenring is his home turf, but even at home, accidents can happen. Following a crash today during the Pre-Qualifying session (where the Spaniard placed 13th, thus starting from Q1 tomorrow at 10:50), Marc Marquez sustained a fracture to his right index finger and a severe contusion to his ribcage.
An injury that, however, will not force him to miss the German GP. The Spaniard has been declared “fit” by the clinic’s doctors after examinations conducted during the final minutes of Pre-Qualifying.
Marquez’s Comment: “We’ll See My Condition Tomorrow Morning”
These are the words of Marc Marquez, in the Gresini Racing press release: “The feeling with the bike was good, but obviously the afternoon crash had a significant impact on this first day here at Sachsenring. The finger fracture doesn’t worry me, but the ribcage bruise is definitely what’s bothering me the most, and it also prevented me from continuing the session Now it’s time to rest, and tomorrow morning we’ll see what my physical condition is.”
