The two FW46 cars, driven by Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant, will be decorated with the colors of the British flag as a “thank you and appreciation for the tireless work of all team members in Grove, New York, London, and at race circuits,” as stated on the team’s official website. Their names will be intertwined on the bodywork, crowning a week of special events for Williams’ home race. The same liveries will also be used in F2 and F3, respectively by Academy drivers Zak O’Sullivan and Luke Browning.

Moreover, the team’s partner, THG, based in Manchester, will see the MyProtein brand appear on the rear wing of the Williams at Silverstone as a special edition for the British GP.

The celebrations will continue at the table, with Michelin-starred chef Tom Kerridge preparing a banquet for the guests of the Williams hospitality at Silverstone. Kerridge will present a menu showcasing the best British produce in the team’s motorhome during the weekend.

Debut on Track: Franco Colapinto to Make His F1 Debut

It’s not just about the car’s exterior; inside the car during FP1, we will see a new face. Franco Colapinto, the Argentine driver who is doing well in Formula 2, will be involved in the traditional rookie growth process, getting his first taste of Formula 1, right in his team’s home weekend.

Fans will also have the opportunity to see British driver Jenson Button return to the wheel of his first F1 car (the Williams FW22 from 2000) for a series of demonstration laps.

And it doesn’t end there. The Grove-based team has decided to extend the initiatives beyond the track: the London Fan Zone, presented by Kraken, will be located at Piccadilly Circus, in the heart of the capital, featuring Alex Albon, Logan Sargeant, team principal James Vowles, Jenson Button, and Academy F2 driver Zak O’Sullivan. It will be an augmented reality experience called “Where is Williams,” taking fans on a virtual treasure hunt around London’s landmarks to find Williams memorabilia: the winner will receive two free tickets to the Silverstone GP.

Finally, celebratory hats and shirts honoring the team’s history will be available for purchase, and on Friday, a limited edition whisky will be launched in collaboration with Coachbuilt Whisky – co-founded by Jenson Button – commemorating the FW18 car, which won the 1996 Constructors’ Championship with Damon Hill and Jacques Villeneuve.
