After a break, the MotoGP World Championship is back: here are the weather forecasts and all the schedules for the MotoGP at Assen to be ready for the race weekend in the Netherlands!
A new week and, finally, a new race weekend in MotoGP. After a three-week break (due to the cancellation of the Kazakhstan Grand Prix, which was moved to after the summer break), it’s time to hit the track again. Many seat changes are expected for 2025, from Marc Marquez’s historic move to Ducati to Aprilia’s new lineup with Bezzecchi and Martin, aiming to win the championship for the first time in history. As mentioned, the championship is still wide open, so this weekend’s Assen round will be one to watch.
The History of the TT Assen
The TT Assen, also known as the “Cathedral of Speed,” is one of the most iconic events on the motorcycle racing calendar. Founded in 1925, the Dutch Grand Prix takes place on the Assen circuit, a historic track that has undergone various modifications over the years to improve safety and performance. Originally a road race, the circuit was moved to a permanent track in 1955, retaining its charm and technical challenge while being loved by riders.
The TT Assen is the only race on the MotoGP calendar to be present every year since its inception, making it one of the most anticipated and celebrated competitions by fans.
The Assen Circuit is famous for its unique, technical, and challenging layout, which combines fast corners and technical sections. With a length of 4.542 kilometers and 18 turns, it offers numerous overtaking opportunities and requires absolute precision from the riders. The track is renowned for its smooth surface and excellent grip, allowing riders to push their bikes to the limit. The variety of corners, including the famous “G.M. Timmer chicane” before the finish line (known for many historic overtakes), tests the talent of the 22 riders in today’s MotoGP.
