There are increasing reports of possible ticket sales difficulties for the F1 in Las Vegas: drastically reduced prices and commissions promised to those who boost sales.
The expected appeal for the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix does not seem to be there. After last year’s edition, which culminated in Max Verstappen’s victory in what was probably one of the most exciting and competitive Grand Prix of the year, the interest for the event scheduled from November 21 to 23 is currently low for what Liberty Media considers the most profitable weekend of the year.
Yet, American spectators did not seem to appreciate the treatment they received last year. After Carlos Sainz’s incident with the manhole cover, which led to postponing Free Practice 2 to late at night, 35,000 fans were expelled from the circuit due to local regulations, which did not allow events with such a large audience at that hour for safety reasons.
Formula 1 and Liberty Media compensated the attendees with a $200 discount for this year’s tickets, despite the huge sums spent far exceeding the voucher offered for the following year. This led to great discontent, which, combined with the extremely high ticket prices(here prices and sale of official tickets), is causing a significant logistical problem: Las Vegas sta vendendo pochissimi bigliettiLas Vegas is selling very few tickets, so much so that, according to Real Vegas Locals, organizers have promised commissions to anyone who can sell new tickets by the end of November.
F1 in Las Vegas, what discounts: prices dropped by up to 83%!
Not only that: the Heineken GA+ package, which cost $8,000 last year, has been reduced by 83%, now priced at $1,250, at which tickets will be available starting June 24 at 10:00 AM.
Price reductions and commissions that will drastically decrease revenues, but are necessary for the current situation: the Las Vegas Grand Prix, as entertaining as it was, left a bitter taste in the mouths of American spectators, not completely satisfied with the experience despite the wonderful show put on during the Grand Prix days.
