Marc Marquez signs a two-year contract, until 2026, with the impression that it won’t just be two years in Ducati for him: the new regulations of 2027 could favor his riding style, and at 31 years old, the Spaniard is far from being satisfied with victories.
Gigi dall’Igna (Direttore Generale di Ducati Corse)
“First of all, I want to thank both Enea Bastianini and Jorge Martin for all the work they’ve done with us in recent years, and I wish them the best for the future. This season, they’re truly demonstrating an incredible level, and we’re confident they will fight for the world title until the end. Deciding on Bagnaia’s new teammate in the Ducati Lenovo Team wasn’t easy as we had a list of truly strong riders to choose from. Finally, our choice fell on an undeniable talent like Marc Marquez. In just a few races, he has managed to adapt perfectly to our Desmosedici GP, and his innate ambition drives him to continuously grow. In the garage, we’ll have two riders who together have a total of 11 world titles, and being able to rely on their experience and maturity will be valuable for our growth.”
Marc Marquez’s first words in Ducati
“I’m very happy to be able to wear the red of the official Ducati team in MotoGP™ next season. Practically from the first contact with the Desmosedici GP, I enjoyed riding it and adapted to it very well right away. From that moment, I understood that my goal was to continue on this path, keep growing, and join the team where Francesco Bagnaia became world champion for two consecutive years. I’m truly happy to take this big step starting from 2025 and grateful for the trust that Ducati has placed in me. Finally, I want to thank Nadia, Carlo, Michele, and the entire Gresini Racing family for opening the door to their team at a delicate moment in my career. Now, we will continue to have fun and give our best for the remainder of this current season, which is my priority at the moment.”
