From Wednesday 20 September the film “Gran Turismo – The story of an impossible dream” will be screening at the cinema. Here’s the REVIEW!
A journey into the world of SimRacing, a dream that becomes reality: the story of Jann Mardenborough is one to tell to all those who dream of a future as drivers, but who don’t have the economic possibilities. A journey into the world of both online and real Gran Turismo racing, easily explained so that even newcomers to the industry can enjoy the film experience.
Jann Mardenborough’s story
Jann Mardenborough is a gamer specializing in the Gran Turismo racing simulator. He is the son of a former footballer who played for Cardiff in Wales, where he lives with his brother. The latter tried to follow in his father’s footsteps, while Jenn was considered a bit of a disappointment by her father, precisely because of her unachievable dream of becoming a pilot. However, he will have the chance to make up for it when Nissan launches the competition for Gran Turismo players, recruiting new drivers to compete in real races.
The risky marketing project was the idea of Danny Moore, who was unable to find a manager willing to support him until he reluctantly turned to former champion Jack Salter. He will be responsible for training Jann and the other players, first subjecting them to rigorous screening and then helping them bring out the best on the track.

The film initially immerses you in the dimension of SimRacing, a world much loved by young people but unknown to older generations, enhancing the great possibility that online racing guarantees to those who love racing but do not have the difficult requirements (especially economic) that this sport requires . Later on, the film switches from online to the real track, showing the risks and great passion that each driver puts on the track.
A wonderful journey which, amidst family and economic difficulties, transmits the passion for racing to all those who watch it, truly making spectators daydream.
